Bridging the Gap

Top 2 Toe

We have an exciting program we are offering this summer to the children participating in our Summer Lunch Program. Top 2 Toe will help a kid walk into the new school year with confidence.

Every child deserves to walk into school feeling confident, prepared, and valued. Yet for many families, basic back-to-school necessities like underwear, socks, properly fitting shoes, and clean clothing are financially out of reach.

Through this program, we would want each child to receive:

  • New underwear
  • New socks
  • At least one new outfit
  • A new pair of shoes

While these items may seem simple, they make a profound difference in a child’s life. Clean clothes and shoes that fit help children feel confident, accepted, and ready to learn. For children facing financial hardship, these essentials can remove barriers to school attendance, participation, and self-esteem.

If you are interested in sponsorship, please email jennifer.hooper@btgcommunity.org.

Behind the scenes, it is truly a community effort. Volunteers help collect, sort, and distribute new school clothes and shoes, while local businesses and donors provide the resources that make it all possible. Together, we create the ability for a child to walk in to the new school year with confidence.
